About the Instructor

Kari earned her business degree from UW Stout. She worked several years managing a radio station, and as a marketing consultant. After her first child she decided to slow down. She converted her 90-year-old home into a bed and breakfast that she operated for six years. During her term as innkeeper, Kari served on several local civic organizations, including the Menomonie Chamber of Commerce and The Tourism Commission. She returned to Stout and completed her Master s Degree in Education in 1993. She worked at CESA 11 in the curriculum and staff development department helping schools transform their curriculum and professional development processes, and teaching critical thinking. In 1996 she became an independent consultant to schools and industry n organizational, leadership and culture development. Kari was recently selected to present at the National Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development conference in Boston, MA.

She enjoys the challenge of integrating her experiences in business and education within all classes she teaches at Stout. She believes that teaching is the best job, of any, in the world. Kari has two girls, ages 14 and 16. She loves to have theme parties, read, and make gourmet meals
