The role of alcohol and drugs and their relationship to accident causation will be examined. The problem of alcoholism and drug addiction, and present efforts for prevention and rehabilitation will be explored. Educational programs dealing with the physiological, psychological, and sociological effects of alcohol and drugs will be discussed.

- Describe the possible applications of alcohol and drug education to home safety.
- State the significance of alcohol and drug education to recreational safety.
- Identify the physiological, psychological and sociological effects of alcohol and drugs.
- Describe the personality traits of the alcoholic and drug addict.
- Describe the treatment and rehabilitation of the alcoholic and drug addict.
- Identify social drinking patterns in this and other countries.
- Identify the role and methodology of the school in providing alcohol and drug training programs.
