Dr. Mike Galloy is a professor in the Industrial Management Department. Previous educational experiences include industrial/technical teacher education, human resource training and development, and construction education. Mike earned his Ph.D. in Vocational Education from Southern Illinois University. He has directed numerous grant and research activities in education, training, and professional/personal development. He has partnered with business, industry, and government agencies to design and deliver supervisory and leadership training, instructor training, and development of curriculum materials. He has served as an evaluation team member for several organizations including the American Council on Education. He has authored five training manuals for The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Supervisory Training Program (STP), developed a series of 12 workshops titled The Supervisory Leadership Series (SLS) and co-authored The Professional Crane Operator as part of a UW-Stout Construction Risk Control Partnership with St. Paul Companies and the Associated General Contractors of America.

Before entering education, Mike worked in the construction industry for 19 years on high-rise, commercial, residential, and highway projects in metro Chicago, central Wisconsin and Southern Illinois. He worked as a laborer, apprenticed as a cement mason and graduated to journey-level status. On various jobs, he served as foreman, project superintendent, and for several years was a self employed concrete contractor. He also spent two years as a special representative of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen.
