Dr. Carol Mooney is a professor of Marketing and Business Education and is currently serving as dean of the College of Technology, Engineering & Management at UW-Stout. She has been a member of the faculty since 1988 and has taught a variety of courses for the Department of Communications, Education and Training, School of Education, and the Department of Operations, Construction & Management, including Marketing & Business Education, Training & Development and Career & Technical Education. As a dean, Carol works with 16 undergraduate and graduate program directors and four department chairs on issues and initiatives related to curriculum, program development and recruitment and retention of students as well as provides overall leadership to the college. Prior to joining the faculty at UW-Stout, Carol was a district sales manager for a small Wisconsin Brewery. Her primary responsibilities were to assist wholesalers with marketing and product plans. Prior to sales work, Carol developed a Marketing Education program at Beaver Dam High School, including classroom instruction, cooperative education and DECA. Carol earned her bachelor's degree in marketing education in 1980 and a master's degree in vocational education in 1984, both from UW-Stout. She completed her educational doctorate in vocational education from the University of Minnesota in 1995. Her areas of research include tech-prep, school-to-work, integrated and applied teaching methodologies and the roles of marketing teachers in secondary programs.
